Montesinho Natural Park (Portuguese: Parque Natural de Montesinho) is a protected natural area of approximately 75,000 hectares in northeastern Portugal, located in the Braganza district (subregion: Alto Trás-os-Montes), and established as such on August 30, 1979. It is one of the largest natural parks in the country.

The area, which takes its name from the village of Montesinho and which includes the Serra de Montesinho and the Serra da Coroa, is also nicknamed Terra Fria ("cold land") and was created above all with the aim of protecting the rural customs of the local population.

Territory
Montesinho Natural Park is located in the northern part of the province of Bragança, north of the city of Bragança and extends from the border with the Minho region in the west to the border with Spain in the east and north.
The area is characterized by the presence of hills mainly made up of schist and granite. The mountains of the area reach a maximum altitude of 1481 meters.

The climate of this area is the harshest in all of Portugal (hence the nickname of Terra Fria).

Around 9,000 people live in the area of the Montesinho natural park, as it tends to decrease.
